More Car Buying
I bought a new car on the last day of the year (2007). Actually, it was a used 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. I got it at FSK Lincoln Mercury in
Frederick. The buying experience was great! I've dealt with them a few times over the years and I've always been happy. They had it priced at $2,000 under the KBB price, so no haggling was necessary. Wish I could have gotten a little more for the trade-in, but you never get much on a trade - that's just life.
I can't speak much about the Pacifica yet since its only been a week or so. But its a pretty solid car and a good size. We'll see
how it works out.
FSK seems to always have good clean low mileage cars on the lot at below KBB prices. I got
a deal like this on a 2004 Aviator at the end of 2006 from FSK. I've had the Aviator for a year now and can say that it has run well.
April 2010 - Update: This vehicle was a total steaming pile of crap. A lemon! Junk! We traded it for another Kia and we're glad this thing is gone. We put a bunch of money into it since we got it and it seems like every time we take it to the shop it costs about $600 to fix. So we called it the "$600 car." Electronic things like air bag light and tire pressure light coming on for no good reason. A simple drip of transmission fluid turned into about 3 trips to the shop. All kind of stuff was wearing out on this car after only about 60,000 miles. I also called it the tank, because the windows were so small and dark that you couldn't hardly see out the side or back.
I said it was a "solid" car, and it was. It was like a tank. Very big, thick and heavy doors. I guess that may be safe, but it was a big bulky at times.
FSK has always had good, clean used cars, so I was surprised that this car was so worn out when we got it from them. I'd still buy from FSK. We just got a bad one this time, but I won't blame FSK because Chrysler makes such junk.
